Hubs and myself have been living apart for close to 6 months now. Being newlyweds, the news of relocation certainly caught us off-guard but being career-driven, we told ourselves we will manage somehow with the long-distance relationship. And i thought this only exist when one is single and dating.. apparently not.
Intially the novelty of it excites me, with visions of me jet-setting to Jakarta at least once a month for conjugal visits including factory outlet shopping in Bandung. In reality, I have only been to Jakarta once due to work commitments that prevented myself for making more frequent visits.
Back home in PJ, somehow electrical appliances sensed that Mr Handyman aka Hubs is away, and decided to stop functioning one by one. It all started with the water heater, followed by the dining and kitchen lights. Now, i am not used to changing lights bulbs let alone calling the electrician for help, as usually when Hubs was around he would be responsible for all these. After a couple of nights of cold shower and trying to do some light cooking in the dark, i have no choice but to get them fixed.
As of now, everything in the house is fully functional (keeping my fingers crossed) with the exception of the dining hall lights. Oh well, one bulb blew and there are still four others to light up the place.. hehehe. So much for trying to make a career out of being a homemaker.
